Winter walks in the Demänovská Valley or through the forests of the Low Tatras and the Western Tatras, leading to observation points, have their own distinctive atmosphere. We have selected several easy routes that let you get some fresh air and switch off from your everyday routines.
TIP: A walk in UNESCO-listed Vlkolínec
In the Hrabovská Valley, you can park comfortably and free of charge at the car park directly by the cable car base station. The walk from Hrabovo via the Stations of the Cross and Vlkolínec Meadows to Vlkolínec, at an altitude of 720 metres, takes around 1.5 hours. You can make the route easier by taking the cable car, which saves about an hour, followed by a 30-minute walk through snow-covered woodland from the cable car to the village. An attractive option is the Cable Car Trip to Vlkolínec, which includes entry to the exhibitions in Vlkolínec and a cable car ride for €22. In the village, you can admire traditional wooden architecture, visit several exhibitions, and enjoy a meal in a restaurant or a coffee at U ježibabky. From Vlkolínec, you can return the same way, either by cable car or on foot via Vlkolínec Meadows and the Stations of the Cross, or take the alternative route through the Trlenská Valley to Biely Potok. From there, a taxi or bus is needed to get back to the Hrabovská Valley.

Many restaurants and hotels across Liptov devise special Valentine’s menus for couples. Whether you’re in the mood for Indian cuisine, traditional halušky, or pizza, you’ll find these and much more among the region’s dining options.
TIP: Chopok chutí
