Malino Brdo ski and bike centre is located only 2 kilometres from Ruzomberok town centre at an altitude ranging from 545 to 1209 meters above sea level in the National Park called the Big Fatra. The gateway to the resort is a beautiful Hrabovska valley with the lake, a zip-line, hotels, restaurants and free parking spaces right next to the cable car station.
Snow-covered slopes, panoramic views over Liptov and the High Tatras, a warm family atmosphere, and groomed pistes – that is winter on Malinô Brdo, near Ružomberok. Set in the heart of Veľká Fatra, the resort offers a perfect mix of exercise, relaxation, and fun for skiers of all ages.
You can look forward to more than 10 km of pistes, maintained by two new snow groomers – giving you instantly perfect slopes. The range of difficulty suits families and sporty skiers, while children will love the ski school, kids’ lifts, and sledging area, all brimming with winter excitement.
This season’s highlight is the Snowpark – a playground for lovers of tricks and freestyle. Ski mountaineering fans can follow marked routes of varying difficulty from Hrabovo to the summit of Malinné (1,209 m). The Snowpark has been designed to offer something for both beginners and more experienced riders. The first feature is a street-style T-box with a side entry, providing an ideal start to the run. More advanced riders will handle the technically more demanding yet safe low rail set level with the snow. Complete beginners will appreciate the wide box, perfect for practising basic tricks and building confidence on obstacles. The rail section is rounded off by a kinked box that tests coordination and flow. And to finish, a five-metre kicker awaits, sure to delight every freestyle fan.
A skibus runs throughout winter from Ružomberok railway station to the cable car. If you are arriving by car, free parking is available in Hrabovská Valley, a short walk from the lower station.
After a day on the slopes, treat yourself to good food and a moment to relax. Choose from the on-slope Après-ski bar, Koliba Dária with its beautiful views, or Hotel Malina, offering quality dining and accommodation just metres from the lift.
For the beginners, there is a ski school and a ski rental, which you can find at the ticket offices at the main station of the cable car. Thanks to professional instructors, you will learn the basics of skiing or snowboarding and feel the joy of winter sports. Thanks to the safe and wide ski slopes the resort is favourite among schools referring to the ski courses.
There are also routes for ski alpinists in the area, and you can enjoy not only the panoramic views from Malino, but you can continue along the ridge to Smrekovica and enjoy fabulous winter landscape of the Big Fatra. Depending on the snow conditions, we also prepare cross-country trails in the resort. One track is right in the centre next to the main slope, and you can find the other track in so called Vlkolinec meadows.
Various events are held in the resort during the winter season. Sports competitions such as the Championship of Pupils in Skiing, Ruzomberok Teddy Bear and the Skialp night challenge are held here. This winter the centre will host a two-day SNOW SHOW with a full-day program and entertainment for everyone.
