Bokami Západných Tatier is a three-day team race taking place under the auspices of the Slovak Mountaineering Association JAMES. The race follows a long tradition of ski mountaineering races in the Western Tatras, which date back to the early 1990s.
It is the only multi-day and at the same time the most demanding ski mountaineering race in Central Europe and has gained a reputation in the wider European context.
“BOKAMI” in numbers: 3 days – 3 stages – 3 valleys = 60 km / approx. 6600 m of elevation.
Competitors as well as fans can look forward to several ascents and descents with a length of about 20 kilometers and an elevation gain of about 2000 to 2700 meters in each of the three stages in the western part of the Western Tatras:
– Spálená dolina in the area of Salatín peak (2048 m above sea level) and Brestová peak (1903 m above sea level),
– Bobrovecká dolina in the area of Babky peak (1566 m above sea level) and Sivý vrch peak (1805 m above sea level) with a view to Chata pod Náružím hut with an unforgettable atmosphere,
– traditionally the “royal” stage takes place in Žiarská dolina in the area of Baníkov peak (2178 m above sea level) and Tri Kopy peak (2136 m above sea level) with a start at the mouth of Žiarská dolina (valley).

- The Organizer of the event does not provide accommodation and meals, it only provides refreshments after each race stage
- The race itself, race check-in, stages briefings, closing race ceremony and the whole event will be adapted to current epidemiological measures https://www.uvzsr.sk, https://korona.gov.sk
- The Organizer recommends each competitor to insure himself individually for the Bokami Západných Tatier 2022 race in the period 24-26.3.2022. The insurance must be intended directly for the sporting event.
- Entry fee for the competitor for the year 2022 is determined as follows: 140 € (SHS JAMES, ČHS, HZS), others 160 €.
- Competitors are obliged to follow the Organizational and Competition Rules for Bokami Západných tatier 2022 race
