Chopok Panoramic Trail

Discover a new panoramic trail that combines education, entertainment and unforgettable views.

Walk along the ridge at an altitude of 2,004 m above sea level and stop at 11 thematic stations that will introduce you to the national park, nature and the charm of two regions – Liptov and Horehronie.

Walk through the individual stations of the educational trail, get to know Chopok and life in the Low Tatras National Park.

1. Photo point – JASNÁ gate: Start your walk at this iconic photo spot. The gate offers stunning views of the Low Tatras ridge and is the perfect place for your first snapshots. 
2. 3D Panorama of the Tatras: Discover an interactive model of the Tatras and learn to recognise the various peaks and valleys you can see in the distance. 
3. Information board: How cable cars work: Take a look at the modern technology that brought you here. Find out what’s behind the smooth operation of cable cars.
4. Information board: Hiking and conservation in the Low Tatras National Park: Learn how to protect nature while hiking and what the Low Tatras National Park does to preserve this extraordinary area.
5. The table of two regions: A symbolic place where two worlds meet – Liptov and Horehronie. Make yourself comfortable and enjoy the breathtaking views of the majestic nature on both sides of Jasná.
6. Information board: Mountain weather: Why does the weather change so quickly in the mountains? Learn how to read the sky, discover record-breaking weather conditions and expand your knowledge of the mountain climate.
7. NEW – Snow Gauge: Interested in the weather conditions? Discover how deep the snow cover on Chopok can be and see how weather conditions change in the high mountain environment throughout the year.
8. NEW – Direction Finder: Discover where the surrounding peaks and points of interest are located. Just look at the direction finder and learn the names of peaks, valleys and important points that you can admire from Chopok.
9. Swing with a view: Finish your trip by relaxing on a large swing in the shape of the bird nest, with panoramic views of the southern side of the Low Tatras. A photogenic and calming place where time slows down.
