Bobrovec got its name by the beaver that used to live in the Jalovecký stream. The village is an ideal starting point to the Western Tatras. From Bobrovecká Valley, tourists can hike to chalet called Chata pod Červencom (1420 m), Sivý vrch (1805 m), Baníkov (2178 m) or Baranec (2184 m). In Bobrovecká valley you can visit a traditional sheep shed where you can taste its specialties. Bobrovec is located near Tatralandia (2 km), water dam Liptovská Mara (2 km), GINO PARADISE Bešeňová (10 km), ski resort JASNÁ Nízke Tatry (14 km).
