The Koloman Sokol Center is housed in Pongr\u00e1cs\u2019 Mansion in the main square since 2002. It was opened on the occasion of 100th birthday of Koloman Sokol, prominent Slovak graphic artist and painter and native from Mikul\u00e1\u0161. His 48 great works devoted to the author\u2019s native town are the basis of the permanent exposition. Collection of graphics and drawings is complemented by his biography, personal objects and cycle of photographs by Tibor Husz\u00e1r who lived in Sokol\u00b4s house behind the ocean during the last years of Sokol\u00b4s life. Upstairs in the oldest secular building in the town you can see not only the unique creative expression of Koloman Sokol but also his dramatic life story. The exposition hall on the ground floor offers some space for personalities of Slovak graphic art, for new names of Slovak art, but also for foreign artists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

V historickej Pongr\u00e1covskej k\u00farii<\/a> na hlavnom n\u00e1mest\u00ed od roku 2002 s\u00eddli Gal\u00e9ria Kolomana Sokola. Otvoren\u00e1 bola pri pr\u00edle\u017eitosti st\u00fdch naroden\u00edn v\u00fdznamn\u00e9ho slovensk\u00e9ho grafika a maliara, mikul\u00e1\u0161skeho rod\u00e1ka Kolomana Sokola (1902 \u2013 2003). V roku 2017 bol zmenen\u00fd n\u00e1zov na Gal\u00e9riu Kolomana Sokola a bola rein\u0161talovan\u00e1 st\u00e1la expoz\u00edcia Kolomana Sokola \u2013 zakladate\u013ea slovenskej i mexickej grafiky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Z\u00e1kladom st\u00e1lej expoz\u00edcie sa stalo 48 \u0161pi\u010dkov\u00fdch diel, ktor\u00e9 umelec venoval svojej rodnej krajine. S\u00fabor graf\u00edk a kresieb dop\u013a\u0148a Sokolova biografia, osobn\u00e9 predmety a sn\u00edmky renomovan\u00e9ho slovensk\u00e9ho fotografa Tibora Husz\u00e1ra. Tie vznikli po\u010das jeho n\u00e1v\u0161tevy u majstra Sokola v Spojen\u00fdch \u0161t\u00e1toch americk\u00fdch. Na poschod\u00ed najstar\u0161ej svetskej budovy v meste tak m\u00f4\u017eete spozna\u0165 nielen neopakovate\u013en\u00fd v\u00fdtvarn\u00fd prejav Kolomana Sokola, ale aj jeho dramatick\u00fd \u017eivotn\u00fd pr\u00edbeh.
