The village of Likavka lies in the north of central Slovakia in the western part of the Liptov Basin in the district of Ru\u017eomberok. It is located on the right bank of the river V\u00e1h in a small valley between the hills of Mnich (in the south), Predn\u00fd Cho\u010d (in the north) and \u010cebra\u0165 (in the west).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For centuries, the history of the village of Likavka was closely connected with the history of the castle, which was named after the original settlement – Likava. Likava Castle has been step by step renovated and reconstructed since the 1980s. The lower part of the castle, including the Hu\u0148ady Tower, which houses an exhibition on the history of the castle, has been open to the public since 2004.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The village of Likavka is characterized by a rich cultural life. The natural amphitheatre under the castle with 2,000 seats is the scene of many summer activities. Dejiny obce Likavka boli po cel\u00e9 st\u00e1ro\u010dia \u00fazko prepojen\u00e9 s hist\u00f3riu hradu, ktor\u00fd dostal n\u00e1zov pod\u013ea p\u00f4vodnej osady \u2013 Likava. Hrad Likava<\/b> je od osemdesiatych rokov 20. storo\u010dia upravovan\u00fd a na viacer\u00fdch miestach zrekon\u0161truovan\u00fd. Doln\u00e1 \u010das\u0165 hradu zah\u0155\u0148aj\u00faca Hu\u0148adyho ve\u017eu, v ktorej je umiestnen\u00e1 expoz\u00edcia k dejin\u00e1m hradu je verejnosti spr\u00edstupnen\u00e1 od roku 2004.<\/p>\n
