<\/span>The oldest Calvary in Liptov was completed in 1850. It consists of the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and 14 chapels of the Way of the Cross.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is located about 1 km away from the town centre, close to the Andrej Hlinka square and the town’s cemetery. The Calvary is a popular walking location offering nice views of the town and the surrounding mountains such as Ve\u013ek\u00fd Cho\u010d, Predn\u00fd Cho\u010d, \u010cebra\u0165, Mn\u00edch, the Western Tatras and Kriv\u00e1\u0148.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 14 chapels represent the Stations of the Cross and feature wooden carvings depicting the scenes from the sentencing, torturing and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the top of the Calvary stands the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Its consecration was attended by more than 5000 people. The church\u00b4s construction cost 1833 gold coins, of which 1056 gold coins were funded by the town and the rest of the money was contributed by the members of the church community. The church is about 16 m long and 8 m wide and has a lovely turret. The church interior features relief sculptures created by F. Gibala and wall paintings made by M. Klim\u010d\u00e1k. The three metal crosses standing in front of the church have replaced the original wooden ones. The church hosts a mass on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Calvary and the church are also the pilgrimage site and form an important part of the spiritual history of Ru\u017eomberok<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miesto je ob\u013e\u00fabenou vych\u00e1dzkovou lokalitou s ve\u013emi pekn\u00fdm v\u00fdh\u013eadom na mesto a okolie. Vid\u00edme odtia\u013eto napr\u00edklad Ve\u013ek\u00fd a Predn\u00fd Cho\u010d, \u010cebra\u0165, Mn\u00edch, Z\u00e1padn\u00e9 Tatry, \u010di Kriv\u00e1\u0148.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

V 14 kaplnk\u00e1ch, ktor\u00e9 s\u00fa jednotliv\u00fdmi zastaveniami kr\u00ed\u017eovej cesty, si m\u00f4\u017eeme pozrie\u0165 dreven\u00e9 plastiky s tematikou ods\u00fadenia, mu\u010denia a ukri\u017eovania Je\u017ei\u0161a Krista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Na vrchole Kalv\u00e1rie stoj\u00ed kostol Pov\u00fd\u0161enia sv\u00e4t\u00e9ho Kr\u00ed\u017ea. Na jeho posv\u00e4ten\u00ed sa z\u00fa\u010dastnilo viac ako 5000 \u013eud\u00ed. Stavba kostola st\u00e1la 1833 zlat\u00fdch, z \u010doho mesto poskytlo 1 056 zlat\u00fdch a ostatn\u00e9 prostriedky obetovali veriaci. Kostol\u00edk je pribli\u017ene 16 m dlh\u00fd a 8 m \u0161irok\u00fd, s p\u00f4vabnou ve\u017ei\u010dkou. Vo vn\u00fatri kostol\u00edka sa nach\u00e1dzaj\u00fa reli\u00e9fne plastiky F. Gibalu a n\u00e1stenn\u00e9 ma\u013eby M. Klim\u010d\u00e1ka. Pred kostolom s\u00fa umiestnen\u00e9 tri kovov\u00e9 kr\u00ed\u017ee, ktor\u00e9 nahradili p\u00f4vodn\u00e9 dreven\u00e9. Om\u0161a sa v kostol\u00edku sl\u00fa\u017ei na sviatok Pov\u00fd\u0161enia sv\u00e4t\u00e9ho Kr\u00ed\u017ea v septembri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kalv\u00e1ria s kostol\u00edkom je aj p\u00fatnick\u00fdm miestom a je s\u00fa\u010das\u0165ou duchovnej historie Ru\u017eomberka<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ko\u015bci\u00f3\u0142 ma oko\u0142o 16 m d\u0142ugo\u015bci i 8 m szeroko\u015bci, z urocz\u0105 wie\u017cyczk\u0105. Wewn\u0105trz ko\u015bcio\u0142a znajduj\u0105 si\u0119 rze\u017aby reliefowe F. Gibala i malowid\u0142a \u015bcienne M. Klim\u010d\u00e1ka. Przed ko\u015bcio\u0142em znajduj\u0105 si\u0119 trzy metalowe krzy\u017ce, kt\u00f3re zast\u0105pi\u0142y oryginalne drewniane.
