It was established in 2010 with the intention to promote the works of art of the Ivan and Igor Rumansk\u00fd brothers, natives of the Dem\u00e4nov\u00e1 village, and of other artists who have been inspired by Liptov. The founder and the initiator of the idea of creating an exhibition hall in memory of his deceased brothers is Ing. Michal Rumansk\u00fd, their youngest brother. By founding the <\/span><strong>RUMANSK\u00dd ART CENTRE<\/strong>, n.o., a nonprofit organization that operates the gallery, and opening the gallery itself, Michal Rumansk\u00fd has succesfully highlighted the bonds bounding Igor and Ivan to their native Liptov, the region they considered their home and the place which inspired their works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span>As the purpose of the <\/span><strong>RUMANSK\u00dd<\/strong>&nbsp;ART CENTRE gallery was determined from the very beginning, the interior was designed accordingly. The investor and the architect had a common vision of the project and focused on achieving it. The outcome of their effort was of such high quality that the interior was one of three nominees for the CE.ZA.AR 2011 Award for Architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span><\/span><strong>Ivan Rumansk\u00fd<\/strong>&nbsp;(1944-1990) was a painter, drawer and graphic designer. He could not fully develop his talent due to an illness he struggled with until his death. He coped with it by painting, reading and studying books. Unrequited love also played a role in his illness. His paintings often depict loving couples, hugs, weddings, female portraits. It is interesting to mention that his portraits have no name and women are sometimes faceless. Just when he started to overcome the illness, he suffered a heart attack and died at the age of 46.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span><\/span><strong>Igor Rumansk\u00fd<\/strong>&nbsp;(1946-2006) worked for the Academy of Fine Art in Bratislava for 25 years, first as a professor assistant, then as an associate professor and ultimately as a professor at the Department of graphics. In his work he focused on graphics and illustration, postage stamp design and ex libris. He illustrated about 150 books, many of which were written by Milan R\u00fafus. The gallery is unique and exceptional also for its architectural and artistic solutions designed by J\u00e1n Revaj, the student of Igor Rumansk\u00fd. O kvalitnom v\u00fdsledku ich spolo\u010dn\u00e9ho sna\u017eenia hovor\u00ed aj fakt, \u017ee interi\u00e9r bol jedn\u00fdm z troch nominovan\u00fdch na Cenu za architekt\u00faru CE.ZA.AR 2011.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Ivan Rumansk\u00fd<\/strong> (1944-1990) sa venoval ma\u013ebe, kresbe a grafike. Jeho talent sa nemohol naplno rozvin\u00fa\u0165 kv\u00f4li chorobe, s ktorou z\u00e1pasil a\u017e do konca \u017eivota. Prekon\u00e1val ju ma\u013eovan\u00edm, \u010d\u00edtan\u00edm a \u0161t\u00fadiom kn\u00edh. Svoju \u00falohu v nej zohrala aj ne\u0161\u0165astn\u00e1 l\u00e1ska. \u010casto zobrazoval mileneck\u00e9 dvojice, objatia, svadby, \u017eensk\u00e9 portr\u00e9ty. Zauj\u00edmav\u00e9 je, \u017ee jeho portr\u00e9ty nikdy nemali men\u00e1, dokonca \u017eeny niekedy nemaj\u00fa ani tv\u00e1r.
