He and his eight siblings came from a raftsman family . He got his basic education in his native village of \u010cernov\u00e1. He then studied at the Piarist school in Ru\u017eomberok, where he decided to become a priest. In the years 1881 &#8211; 1883 he studied at the higher grammar school in Levo\u010da. In 1883 he was accepted as a seminary cleric in the Spi\u0161 Chapter. He received <\/span><strong>the ordination of the priesthood on June 19, 1889.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"read-more\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He died of a serious illness, his remains were first placed in the Ru\u017eomberok cemetery and on October 31, 1938, ceremoniously transferred to the mausoleum at the Ru\u017eomberok parish church. Before the arrival of the Red Army in March 1945, they took them to an unknown place in Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" class=\"read-more-btn\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"more\">read more<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t\t<span class=\"less\">hide<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitliptov.sk\/zaujimavosti\/mauzoleum-andreja-hlinku\/\">Andrej Hlinka&#8217;s Mausoleum<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The name Andrej Hlinka is associated with the existence of an important monument in the town of Ru\u017eomberok, which is represented by his mausoleum &#8211; a national cultural monument of the Slovak Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!4v1607430272748!6m8!1m7!1sCAoSLEFGMVFpcFBPaEJ2QWNDdEg3NncwcllzTERpRzFSdkEzSVFNb2M5WUZuMEVt!2m2!1d49.08061788643987!2d19.30413454771042!3f6.2082076!4f0!5f0.7820865974627469\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:0;\" allowfullscreen=\"\" aria-hidden=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n<div class=\"read-more\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span><\/span><strong>The original idea<\/strong> of construction in 1938 was a memorial to the fallen of World War I. After the death of Andrej Hlinka, the then municipal council under the leadership of Anton Mederly, the mayor of Ru\u017eomberok, accepted a proposal to build the Mausoleum of Andrej Hlinka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span>The building is oriented so that it is part of the main square with the church of St. Ondrej and the adjacent parish, in which Andrej Hlinka worked. <\/span><strong>The interior<\/strong> of the mausoleum was originally divided into two parts, which, however, optically intertwined and created the impression of continuity. The first part was the entrance chapel with the altar of the Virgin Mary and the coat of arms of the city. To the left was a sarcophagus made of black onyx stone, above which stood a Slovak emblem with an inscription. The area of the outer front wall of the mausoleum was filled with memorial plaques &#8211; the first with a carved law on the merits of Andrej Hlinka from April 1939 and the second with the list of the fallen man from Ru\u017eomberoks in the First World War. On October 31, the ceremonial transfer of Hlinka&#8217;s body remains from the town cemetery to the mausoleum took place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span><\/span><strong>In 1945, Andrej Hlinka&#8217;s body was transported to a safe place<\/strong>. Not enough reliable information has been preserved about his fate in the post-war period during the socialist era. Although various rumours and legends have circulated about him, the search for the remains of the body has not yet yielded any positive results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span><\/span><strong>At present,<\/strong> in the inner part of the mausoleum there is the original glass coffin of Andrej Hlinka with a noticeable trace of the shot, which probably comes from the time of her temporary stay in the crypt of the Cathedral of St. Martin in Bratislava. The last modifications of the face were made in 2007 before the commemorative event for the centenary of the tragedy in \u010cernov\u00e1. A new information panel for tourists in several language versions was installed on the face of the building. Hlinka significantly contributed financially to the construction of the building<\/p>\n<p>The former Piarist grammar school, monastery, church &#8211; church and monastery became the property of the Jesuits in 1922, who was invited to Ru\u017eomberok by the Bishop of Spi\u0161 J\u00e1n Vojta\u0161\u0161\u00e1k together with Andrej Hlinka<\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><strong>Orphanage &#8211;<\/strong> A. Po smrti Andreja Hlinku vtedaj\u0161ie obecn\u00e9 zastupite\u013estvo pod veden\u00edm Antona Mederlyho, starostu Ru\u017eomberka, prijalo n\u00e1vrh na vybudovanie Mauz\u00f3lea Andreja Hlinku.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Stavba je orientovan\u00e1 tak, aby bola <strong>s\u00fa\u010das\u0165ou hlavn\u00e9ho n\u00e1mestia s kostolom sv. Ondreja a pri\u013eahlou farou<\/strong>, na ktorej Andrej Hlinka p\u00f4sobil. Interi\u00e9r mauz\u00f3lea bol p\u00f4vodne rozdelen\u00fd na dve \u010dasti, ktor\u00e9 sa v\u0161ak vz\u00e1jomne opticky prel\u00ednali a vytv\u00e1rali dojem spojitosti. Prv\u00fa \u010das\u0165 tvorila <strong>vstupn\u00e1 kaplnka s olt\u00e1rom Panny M\u00e1rie a erbom mesta<\/strong>. Na\u013eavo bol umiestnen\u00fd <strong>sarkof\u00e1g z \u010dierneho \u00f3nyxov\u00e9ho kame\u0148a<\/strong>, nad ktor\u00fdm sa vyn\u00edmal slovensk\u00fd znak s n\u00e1pisom. Priestor vonkaj\u0161ej \u010delnej steny mauz\u00f3lea vyp\u013a\u0148ali <strong>pam\u00e4tn\u00e9 tabule<\/strong> - prv\u00e1 <strong>s vytesan\u00fdm z\u00e1konom o z\u00e1sluh\u00e1ch Andreja Hlinku<\/strong> z apr\u00edla 1939 a druh\u00e1 <strong>s menoslovom padl\u00fdch Ru\u017eomber\u010danov v prvej svetovej vojne.<\/strong> D\u0148a 31. okt\u00f3bra sa konalo sl\u00e1vnostn\u00e9 prenesenie Hlinkov\u00fdch telesn\u00fdch pozostatkov z mestsk\u00e9ho cintor\u00edna do mauz\u00f3lea.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>V roku 1945 bolo telo Andreja Hlinku prevezen\u00e9 na bezpe\u010dn\u00e9 miesto. O jeho osudoch v povojnovom obdob\u00ed za \u00e9ry socializmu sa nezachovali dostato\u010dne hodnovern\u00e9 inform\u00e1cie. Hoci o \u0148om kolovali &nbsp;r\u00f4zne ch\u00fdry a legendy, <strong>p\u00e1tranie po telesn\u00fdch pozostatkoch doposia\u013e neprinieslo \u017eiadne pozit\u00edvne v\u00fdsledky.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>V s\u00fa\u010dasnosti<\/strong> sa vo vn\u00fatornej \u010dasti mauz\u00f3lea nach\u00e1dza <strong>origin\u00e1lna presklen\u00e1 rakva Andreja Hlinku s badate\u013enou stopou po priestrele<\/strong>, ktor\u00fd poch\u00e1dza pravdepodobne z \u010dias jej prechodn\u00e9ho pobytu v krypte D\u00f3mu sv. Martina v Bratislave. Posledn\u00e9 \u00fapravy fas\u00e1dy sa realizovali v roku 2007 pred spomienkovou akciou na storo\u010dnicu \u010dernovskej trag\u00e9die. Na prie\u010delie stavby bol in\u0161talovan\u00fd <strong>nov\u00fd informa\u010dn\u00fd panel pre turistov vo viacer\u00fdch jazykov\u00fdch mut\u00e1ci\u00e1ch<\/strong>. Mauz\u00f3leum patr\u00ed v s\u00fa\u010dasnosti medzi najv\u00fdraznej\u0161ie kult\u00farno-architektonick\u00e9 dominanty Ru\u017eomberka.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:shortcode -->\n[\/read-more]\n<!-- \/wp:shortcode -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kostol sv. He then studied at the Piarist school in Ru\u017eomberok, where he decided to become a priest. In the years 1881 - 1883 he studied at the higher grammar school in Levo\u010da. In 1883 he was accepted as a seminary cleric in the Spi\u0161 Chapter. After the death of Andrej Hlinka, the then municipal council under the leadership of Anton Mederly, the mayor of Ru\u017eomberok, accepted a proposal to build the Mausoleum of Andrej Hlinka.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>The building is oriented so that it is part of the main square with the church of St. Ondrej and the adjacent parish, in which Andrej Hlinka worked. <strong>The interior<\/strong> of the mausoleum was originally divided into two parts, which, however, optically intertwined and created the impression of continuity. The first part was the entrance chapel with the altar of the Virgin Mary and the coat of arms of the city. To the left was a sarcophagus made of black onyx stone, above which stood a Slovak emblem with an inscription. The area of the outer front wall of the mausoleum was filled with memorial plaques - the first with a carved law on the merits of Andrej Hlinka from April 1939 and the second with the list of the fallen man from Ru\u017eomberoks in the First World War. On October 31, the ceremonial transfer of Hlinka's body remains from the town cemetery to the mausoleum took place.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>In 1945, Andrej Hlinka's body was transported to a safe place<\/strong>. Not enough reliable information has been preserved about his fate in the post-war period during the socialist era. Although various rumours and legends have circulated about him, the search for the remains of the body has not yet yielded any positive results.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>At present,<\/strong> in the inner part of the mausoleum there is the original glass coffin of Andrej Hlinka with a noticeable trace of the shot, which probably comes from the time of her temporary stay in the crypt of the Cathedral of St. Martin in Bratislava. The last modifications of the face were made in 2007 before the commemorative event for the centenary of the tragedy in \u010cernov\u00e1. A new information panel for tourists in several language versions was installed on the face of the building.
