Tatralandia – Liptovský Trnovec – Liptovská Sielnica – Liptovské Matiašovce – Vodopád (Waterfall) – Bobrovecká vápenica (lime kiln) – Bobrovec – Liptovská Ondrašová – Tatralandia (water park)
This pleasant route runs along the largest area of water fun with accommodation – Aquapark Tatralandia & Holiday Village Tatralandia. Since your path will end again in this area, we will return back to it at the end. From Tatralandia, head towards Liptovský Mikuláš. Near the village of Liptovský Trnovec you will find a car camp site Autocamping, which lies on the shore of the dam Liptovská Mara. Adventurous visitors can built a tent and enjoy the unique feeling of camping. Don´t forget to take with you your swimsuits and a blanket, because you will find here the best beach around the dam of Liptovská Mara. Take a boat ride or experience a ship cruise.
Continue through the village of Liptovská Sielnica. The oldest written mention of the village is from 256. In the 1970s, it had to give way to the waters of the dam Liptovská Mara. About two kilometres north of the original village a new and modern Liptovská Sielnica arose. It’s one of the villages that had been flooded and newly built. This village is characterized by extension of the horseback riding. Hippo Club, which was established in the village, offers modern facilities to stable riding horses, organizes riding courses and so on. If you love to ride horses you can enjoy the stunning views of the landscape whilst riding… In the village of Liptovské Matiašovce you can find a Renaissance Baroque Church of St. Ladislav, which is registered in the list of cultural monuments and can be seen in many Slovak films. It is a building from the early 16th century with fortifications from the 17th century. Several objects of folk architecture was also located in the place, however, they were transferred to the open air museum in Pribylina. The village of Liptovské Matiašovce is also attractive for a number of protected trees: small leaved lime, arolla pine, broad leaved lime and poplar tree.
The route from Liptovský Trnovec to Matiašovce can be shortened through the village of Beňušovce. From Liptovské Matiašovce head for the village of Podmeštrová and continue through the mountains and forests to Boborovecká vápenica (lime kiln). On your way you can admire the countryside, bath in waterfalls and taste the typical Liptov food – sheep cheese and whey – of course, at a sheep farm. Bobrovecká vápenica was named after a stone quarry, which doesn´t operates anymore. It is also the starting point for hiking to mountains Sivý vrch, Babky and so on. From the lime kiln take the road along the village of Jalovec, and then through the village of Bobrovec up to the village of Liptovská Ondrašová, where you can enjoy your time in a stylish wine bar “U Muzikantov” (At Musicians). Finish your journey with fun and relaxation in the water park Aquapark Tatralandia which occupies an area of 14 ha. You can find here a number of waterslides and tubes, pools with thermal and non-thermal water, sauna world, massages, baths and countless attractions, except for those in the water.
